Making A Purchase

As my water garden nursery is not open to the public, please use this website to order pond items. Please select the items you would like to buy and e-mail me your order, using the link at the bottom of this page. I will reply (usually within 24-48 hours), confirming your order and giving you a total price. Please do not send any money until I have confirmed that all the items you want are available. I accept payment by personal cheque - please make cheques payable to "Wayside Aquatics". Alternatively, you can use your credit/debit card to pay over the phone, or pay through Paypal using your credit/debit card. If sending a personal cheque, please note that items cannot be dispatched until after the cheque has cleared. My postal address for cheques is: Wayside Aquatics, Blackmore Road, Doddinghurst, Brentwood, Essex CM15 0HU Once items have been ordered and paid for, they will be packed and posted to you. I can post anywhere within the UK. Alternatively, if you are local, you can order online and collect in person on a pre-arranged date by coming to my fish shop.




Postage, Packaging and Delivery Times

All orders are subject to a flat postal charge of £4.95, unless collected in person. If buying both plants and snails, these will be combined into one parcel with one postal charge. If plants are collected in person, they will be supplied freshly potted in aquatic soil and a suitable pot. If they are sent by post, they will be supplied bare-root.
Your items will be packed as soon as possible and I will notify you by e-mail when they are ready to be collected or have been posted. You can normally expect to receive them or come and collect them within a week of cleared payment.
Please note that all orders will require a signature on delivery. If no one is present to sign for the parcel, it will be returned to the local sorting office. If ordering live snails, this delay could pose a threat to their health, so please ensure someone is available to take delivery of the parcel in this case. I can send to a work address if this is easier - just let me know.




Guarantee

Plant Orders: All orders are guaranteed to be healthy and true to the variety named. Please note that plants should be unpacked and planted as soon as possible after arrival. See Planting Instructions here.
Snail Orders: All orders are guaranteed to be healthy when packed and to arrive alive. Please note though, that this guarantee is void if no-one is present to sign for the parcel when delivered.




Returns and Refunds

In the unlikely event that there is a problem with your order when it arrives, please let me know immediately by e-mailing me here and quoting your order number. If you simply wish to return your items please send them back to me within seven days of your receiving them for a full refund (or replacement if you prefer). Please note that you will have to cover the cost of returning the items to me.




What Will I Receive?

Plant Orders Supplied By Post:
All plants are supplied bare root. For practical reasons, the foliage of tall plants may be trimmed, but this will not harm them or affect their subsequent growth. Please see pictures below.

Plant Orders Collected From The Fish Shop During Opening Hours By Prior Arrangement:
All plants will be freshly potted in aquatic soil in a suitable pot. I provide this service free of charge when you collect in person. Please see pictures below.

Snail Orders:
All snails sent will be small, young individuals so that they have a long life ahead of them. Please see pictures below.
